Some templates in BindTuning's pre-set template gallery utilize BindTuning Intranet products to enhance SharePoint functionality.
During template provisioning, if not previously deployed to the tenant or site, these products need to be installed for the template to function correctly. While installing at tenant is always recommended, it may not be possible, due to organization policy or limited permissions.
This article outlines the permission levels required for BindTuning Intranet product installation at the site collection level and alternative solutions if those permissions aren't met.
Requirements
Ensure that you have a tenant app catalog created in your tenant. If you are a SharePoint Admin, you can create one following instructions available at Set up your Microsoft 365 tenant | Microsoft Learn.
Permissions
- To create a new site using a template + install BindTuning products:
- A site app catalog needs to be created
- Permissions required: Tenant App Catalog Owner or Tenant App Catalog Admin and SharePoint Admin
- To update a site using a template + install BindTuning products:
- If the site already has an app catalog
- Permissions required: Site Collection Owner
- If the site does not have an app catalog , a site app catalog needs to be created
- Permissions required: Tenant App Catalog Owner or Tenant App Catalog Admin and SharePoint Admin
- If the site already has an app catalog
If Permissions Aren't Met
Reach out to your IT Administrator to:
- Request Permissions: If appropriate, you can request the necessary permissions from your SharePoint administrator.
- Request a site with app catalog manually created: Your administrator can manually create a Site Collection and a Site Collection App Catalog. Once that is done, being a site collection owner is enough for you to apply the template. C
- Invite the IT Admin to perform the template installation: You can request your administrator to run the template installation themselves.
