How do I update my theme?

BindTuning themes are permanently being tested and monitored, and customer feedback is taken very seriously. Consequently, we frequently publish updated versions of our themes, as well as fix releases.

If you need to re-generate your theme in order to get a more recent version, proceed as follows:

If your theme has any updates available, you will receive an email notification, and a red circle icon is displayed in your themes list, to let you know you can upgrade.
  1. Start by logging in to your BindTuning account;
  2. On your dashboard, click on the Design (pencil) tab;

  3. Under your My Themes area, you'll be able to check all your available themes;

  4. Locate the theme you want to update and click on the ellipsis (...);
  5. Select the option Update now;

Alternatively, mouse over the theme you want to update, and select More Details. From there, click on the red ribbon that displays Update Now!

The new version will start being generated and the updated theme will be ready in a few minutes.

When updating, BindTuning is adding the latest features, modifications and/or corrections to your product package. Note however, that those changes are not immediately pushed to your SharePoint environment. To push those same changes, proceed to "re-install" the product. Further information regarding the installation process can be found here

If you'd like to update your Web Parts (Build feature), be sure to follow the steps in this article.

    Does re-generate count as a download or is it a free update?

    Re-generation is always free.

    I have a client with whom I am working (remotely) and would like to present him with a "version" of the template, but may need to tweak colors, etc... Once I buy the template, do I have the ability to go back and tweak colors and re-download in order to get approval from my client?

    Thanks!

    While testing you can download multiple trial themes, each with a different configuration.

    Once purchased, the customization cannot be changed.

    Let us know if you have further questions.

    A question about this... I can download the new version, but there is no info about upgrade, only install and repair a theme (In the case of Office 365 at least).

    Hi Alejandro, to perform an upgrade we recommend that you fully uninstall the existing version, and only after proceed with the new version installation.

    Hi Edgare, in terms of licensing you can use the theme in unlimited websites but only if the theme is NOT MODIFIED.

    If you wish to use different versions of the theme, even if manually modified, you should purchase a new license.

    per above: " fully uninstall the existing version, and only after proceed with the new version installation."

    Is this true with DNN 7?

    If so won't this mess up my site?

    Hi Robert, in DNN you can install the new version on top of the existing one.

    Some theme upgrades have warnings regarding the elements being upgraded. For example our latest release upgraded all themes to framework Bootstrap3. This version is not compatible with previous Bootstrap2 framework for some CSS classes and widgets. A clear warning is available when downloading the new theme version, with link to documentation explaining exactly what changed.

    Just let me know if you have any specific questions.

    Does the T-worx themes get updated the same way as the Bind Tuning themes?
