Warning messages regarding subscription expiration may vary depending on whether you are using a theme or a web part in your SharePoint intranet. This distinction is crucial in understanding where the notification banners will appear and how to remove them appropriately.
Below, we will explain expiration messages for both themes and web parts, along with the steps to handle banners which persist after subscription renewal.
Renewal message for Theme
The red banner that you may see at the top of your SharePoint intranet page is a notification related to the theme you are using.
If your theme subscription has expired, you may see one of these two messages:
- "BindTuning product subscription has expired and will stop working soon! All your site end-users will be notified soon."
- "BindTuning product subscription has expired and will stop working soon! In less than 1 month, all your products will stop displaying content."
They will be shown in a red banner similar to the one below:
Once you renew your themes subscription, you can click on the refresh option provided on the banner, and it should automatically disappear.
Note: if you have successfully renewed your subscription with a purchase order (PO) note that this will only be valid for 30 days after which payment should be received by BindTuning, in line with BindTuning Terms & Conditions. If, after 23 days of receiving the PO, BindTuning has not received payment, the red banner will start displaying again to site admins, notifying about payment deadline.
Renewal message for Web Part
The grey banner that you may see at the top of your web part container is a notification related to the web part you are using.
If your web part subscription has expired, you may see one of these two messages:
- "BindTuning product subscription has expired and will stop working soon! All your site end-users will be notified soon."
- "BindTuning product subscription has expired and will stop working soon! In less than 1 month, all your products will stop displaying content."
They will be shown in a grey banner similar to the one below:
Once you renew your Web Parts subscription, you can click on the refresh option provided on the banner, and it should automatically disappear.
Resolving Issues with Banners
After clicking on the refresh option provided on the banners, if the message persists, you may need to:
- do a hard refresh by pressing CTRL+F5 on your keyboard.
- delete the BT Store List - see below steps.
How to access and delete BT Store List
1. Go to BT Store List from your intranet site, adding /Lists/btStore/AllItems.aspx in your intranet URL and clicking Enter. This should take you to a list named btStore
2. Once in the BT Store list, validate if there is any item on it:
- if yes, delete all items on the list and refresh the page.
- if not (if the list is empty) go to default SharePoint settings and click on List Settings.
- Under btStore » Settings select the option Delete this List. A confirmation message will pop up on the top of the page saying "Are you sure you want to send this list to the site Recycle Bin?" - click on the blue "Ok" button.
- Perform a hard refresh (Ctrl + F5) and then return to the intranet page. Click on the refresh icon that appears on the banner in front of "null."
Following these steps should ensure the successful removal of the red banner for Themes and the grey banner for Web Parts, allowing you to continue enjoying your BindTuning product subscriptions without any interruptions.
